Holidays and Authorised Exceptional Absence from School

Family holidays are no longer allowed to be taken during school term time.  Families who take their children out of school for holidays without permission may be fined.  However, there are situations where the Headteacher may use discretion to authorise the absence in exceptional circumstances.  If you feel that such an absence from school is necessary, please fill in the Term Time Absence Request Form and send to your child’s House Office. This must be done at least four weeks in advance of the date of travel where possible to enable the academy to consider and respond to the request. Parents must detail the exceptional circumstance of the request and provide sufficient evidence to verify the reasons, either with the request, or when subsequently requested.
