Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

Have you got a passion outside of lessons that you want to develop further? Did you have a single lesson on some part of your subject and wish that it was the main topic you were studying? The EPQ is unlike any other subject you can study at Northstowe where you choose what to learn.

Course Overview

The EPQ is unlike any other subject you can study at Northstowe. You will select a topic from almost anything in the world and produce a report answering the question. Some students choose to produce an ‘artefact’ or item, along with a shorter report explaining how they made it. EPQ is 1 year of study; you will be finished by the end of Year 12.

Entrance Requirements

To study the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), students must achieve a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English.

Students who have previously completed the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) are strongly encouraged to apply for EPQ as well as you will build on prior skills.

However, everyone who has a keen interest in a topic is encouraged. You will not be disadvantaged if you have not taken HPQ.
