Celebrating Achievement
- On Sunday the 5th of September, Northstowe had their first ever running festival and despite the extremely hot weather many runners took part and completed their events. It was great to see so many of Northstowe Secondary College students taking part as well as many more cheering along the course. There was however one notable performance from one of our students in Year 8 who took part in the 5km. He completed the run in 21 minutes and came 3rd out of a field of around 100 runners. This was an exceptional result and shows the immense talent that this student has for long distance running.
- One of our Year 7 girls recently competed at the British Ice Skating Slough Solo Dance competition. She had a fantastic couple of days with 2 new PB’s, competitive test score achieved and a podium 3rd place finish!
- Well done to a group of our Year 7s who planned and carried out a cake sale in order to raise money for Wood Green. They all planned together, baked their own cakes and biscuits, advertised, set up a stall, created a JustGiving page and raised £100.00 for the charity!
- Well done to one of our Year 8s who participated in the Cambridgeshire Gymnastics County Nickel Competition, and competed on all apparatus earning Silver on vault, 4th on Bars and 6th on Floor. She has also been busy with Dance Performance Awards and 3 dance exams, of which she has achieved Highly Commended in Lyrical Grade 2, Honours in Modern Troupe Grade 3, and Honours Star in Ballet Grade 3.

During the January-March 2021 lockdown, we asked students to work on their PLEDGES at home. One of our Year 8 students created a beautiful wooden swallow from a delivery pallet to represent Northstowe Secondary College. It is now proudly displayed in our Main Reception for everyone to see!
