New Starters September 2026

We are delighted that you have chosen Northstowe Primary School for your child to begin their learning journey in September 2026. We look forward to welcoming you all as a family over the coming months and meeting you during our transition events.  We are pleased to share further information about our school and the wider Northstowe Learning Community.

Our Reception teacher, Ms Huggins, will shortly be contacting your child’s pre-school setting to discuss your child’s interests and achievements. One of our Reception class team will either visit your child in their setting or communicate with their key worker via telephone to learn more about your child.

For your diaries, please note that we will be holding a New Parents’ Information Evening on Wednesday 10 June at 6.00pm. This is an important session for parents and carers to attend which will last around an hour. Where possible please try and arrange childcare for this evening as it is aimed at giving you, as caregivers, as much information as possible about the start of your child’s school journey.

For your child we have arranged two Stay and Play sessions:

Tuesday 23 June from 1:30pm – 2:30pm – Parents and Carers are invited to stay with their child for this session.

Thursday 2 July from 1:30pm – 2:30pm – Parents and Carers are invited to leave their child in the classroom and stay for a tea and coffee session onsite to meet other families.

In early September, you will be invited for a 15-minute family visit which will allow you and your child to meet with their class teacher and to see the class learning environment just before their first school day.
