Library

The library is designed to provide for the students a quiet, comfortable, and safe area suitable for effective study or quiet, independent reading and is open to students at break and lunch.

Break times in the library are for quiet independent reading and homework whereas lunchtimes can see a range of clubs and activities including chess club, mindfulness colouring, and other games available for small groups of students to have fun with.

The library is housed on the first floor with a view onto the lunch hall and to outside. We have 24 computers available for students to use for study purposes while in the library.

There are inductions for Year 7 students to teach them how the Library and Accelerated Reader functions and to encourage them to use it. Our student Library Ambassadors are trained in all aspects of working in a library and provide invaluable support during busy periods.

The fiction section provides a varied combination of core texts, classic fiction and student favourites, including a focus on our Voyage, Odyssey and Quest reading challenges for Year 7, 8 and 9 respectively. Our Mental Health area has a range of books to support our students which are available to view below.
