Labour Market Information
What is Labour Market Information? (LMI)
A key component of our careers provision is enabling our students and their parents/ carers to have access to career and LMI. This information and/or Intelligence helps provide data, statistics and predictions about present and future trends in the workplace. It also provides information on different careers, their entry routes, salaries paid, skills and qualifications needed.
The Importance of LMI
Keeping up to date with what’s happening in the labour market is important for anyone making career related decisions. With new industries emerging or continuing to evolve, many of the most important jobs of the future don’t yet exist. This make LMI particularly important to our young people as it provides information about what kind of jobs will be on offer when they are leaving school, as well as predicting possible future demand.
